Today, our new book on storytelling was released. It is aimed at students and professionals, mostly in communication and marketing but also in more artistic studies, who want to turn their message or idea into a story.

In brainstorming about the book, my colleagues Tjeerd de Jong, Milja Markies, Rob Leurs, Sjia Cornelissen and I started with that fundamental question: why would you tell a story in the first place? Encouraging the reader to ask themselves that same question became chapter one. Chapter two provides our answer to this question. Chapter three goes into story structures, four is about production and distribution, five focuses on collections of stories and chapter six explains co-creation.

The initial reaction to the book is already amazing. Colleagues and students are letting me know they’ve ordered the book. Thanks, everyone!
